DNS - Domain Name System

DNS
DNS stands for Domain Name System. When you build a website, you will need to register a domain name. DNS is used to locate services and PCs via user friendly names in TCP/IP networks. It makes the use of network roots easier, and you point the domain name to your website.

DNS Server
A DNS Server is a huge database, including each Domain Name and its own IP address. When you assign a domain name to a website first you need to add DNS Server. For an example, if your domain name is “bing.com” resolves to the website at 72.246.53.51 the DNS Server keeps this data. Without DNS, you would have to type all digits and dots into your web browser to access the Web site.
